BALISTER IMPORTED BRIAR WOOD CARVED TOBACCO PIPE 

このパイプは、
 WHO MADE THAT PIPE? BY HERB WILCZAK & TOM COLWELLによると
 Moss & Lowenhaup のブランドです。（p.9）

「そのパイプを作ったのは誰ですか?」 : 
19 世紀と 20 世紀のブライヤーパイプの名前、その製造者/販売者、原産国のディレクトリで250頁ほどの大部の本です。

MOSS AND LOWENHAUPT CIGAR COMPANY （モス&ローエンハウプト）は、USAミズーリセントルイスにあったタバコニストです。
1964年に登記されましたが、1990年には倒産しました。

※Jack Hamburg Jr.という人は、この会社のパイプ制作機械を買取ってイリノイで
Jack"s Handmade Pipes
と称して趣味でパイプ造りをしたとの記載がありますので、このM&Lは製造もしていたということになりますね。
普通はタバコ屋さんは
OEMに出しますが。
イタリア製の外注品も残しています。

リムは樋状になっており個性的です、全体はCUSTOMBILTクローンですがこれは溝彫りの中もスムースです。
ガンストックのような硬質なブライヤーの質が見て取れます。
ステムなどにわずかな摩耗、ボウルにはウチキズなど経年の使用感が見て取れますがエステートとしては美品です。

ボウルのぶ厚い壁、綺麗にリーミングされたチャンバー、
きっと旨いスモーカー（パイプも喫煙者）でしょう。
